After working in the industry for 7 years, Tucker made the decision to start his own independent insurance agency. With the help of a couple colleagues, Hanlon & Associates was open for business in January 2014. Thanks to our client support, we have grown to employ 6 dedicated staff members. Our office is still in its original location (Buckeye Building, Canal Park, Duluth), although we did move to a larger office space on the 4th floor in January of 2020.
Our company slogan is “Real Coverage. Real Service. Real People”. When it comes to insurance, there is no “one size fits all” approach. We consider multiple factors when finding the right coverage for each situation. The best way we can help our clients is make sure we’re covering their personal or business assets in the most appropriate way. This means taking into account their specific situation, what carrier is the best fit or provides the best coverage options for what they need, and of course, keeping price in mind. Our goal is to simplify our clients’ in the complicated world of insurance and provide them with an outstanding customer service experience.
Tucker Hanlon grew up north of Duluth and attended East High School, followed by UMD where he graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Tucker got his start in the insurance industry with Farmers Insurance in 2006 where he worked as an Agent and Assistant District Manager. A few years later, he went to work for a local independent insurance broker specializing in auto, home, life, and commercial insurance. In 2014, after realizing his passion for entrepreneurship, Tucker opened his own agency: Hanlon & Associates.
Tucker and his wife Katie have three daughters: Brooke, Amity, and Michaela, a son, Ryan. Tucker’s hobbies include: running, working out, hunting, fishing, golf, softball, and anything else that keeps him active. In his downtime, he likes to spend time with his family at their cabin in Bemidji, MN.

Jamin Siljendahl is a lifelong member of the Duluth community who attended Duluth’s East High School and the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Jamin is licensed in both commercial and personal insurance and he’s looking to build further relationships within the community. Jamin enjoys helping others understand their coverages and why they’re necessary. He loves spending time with friends and family, enjoying the great outdoors. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, reading, and spending time with his two kids Barry and Hailey who are active in sports and other events.

Katie Hanlon grew up in Duluth, attending both East High School and UMD, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in HR Management. After working both behind the scenes at Hanlon & Associates and for a major medical insurance company for almost 17 years, Katie made the move to work full-time at Hanlon and Associates in late 2022.

Brittany Bahr

Brittany Bahr grew up in the southwest cornfields of Marshall, Minnesota, and earned her BFA in Graphic Design from St. Cloud State University before settling in Duluth. Brittany joined Hanlon & Associates in April 2023 and serves as our receptionist, providing dedicated support to both clients and staff while assisting with billing and claims. She enjoys tending to her 50+ houseplants, collecting and reselling antiques, and spending time with her sphynx babies—Horus, Cow, Chubby, and Gerber.

Alayna Scheall grew up just north of Duluth and graduated from the College of Saint Scholastica in May of 2023. Alayna joined the Hanlon team in September of 2023 and now leads our Personal Lines team, driving team success and helping clients navigate their coverage options with ease. Alayna loves spending time with her family, friends, and her boyfriend Mikey. She enjoys the outdoors and you can usually find her fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, hiking, or playing card games!

Katie Pitcher grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota, and relocated to Duluth in 2020 to complete her degree in Social Work at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Katie joined us at Hanlon & Associates in January 2025 and helps clients find personal lines coverage that fits their needs. Katie enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Hunter, and their five cats—Kai, Nala, Belle, Merlin, and Pepper. She is also passionate about outdoor activities and frequently hiking the many parks around Duluth.

Lucy Hanlon
Pup of All Trades
Lucy is our Chief Bark Officer here at Hanlon and Associates. She’s a (mostly) yellow lab and is always ready to greet any of our customers and friends whenever they stop by with a friendly tail wag and snuggles. She never ever tires of fetch and tug-of-war. Her other responsibilities include acting Lunch Inspector, Hair Distribution Officer, and Assistant Floor Cleaner.
